Ham License

I just received my official amateur radio license in the mail from the FCC.  I took the Technician Class license exam on June 14th and I was listed on the FCC webpage by June 17th.  I received my paper license about a week later.  Seems pretty fast for government work.  Now I can start testing the radio transmitter module on my high altitude balloon project.  My call sign is KD0OYK.  My future balloon launches can be followed under KD0OYK-11.

If you are planning on using the amateur radio bands for your high altitude balloon project, visit the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) website for sample tests, testing locations, and more.
